Dr Deirdre MacManus

Consultant Psychiatrist and Joint Head of Service

Deirdre MacManus is a Clinical Academic. She is a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in assessing and managing a wide range of mental health problems, with a particular interest in trauma-related conditions. She has specialist training in trauma focused therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing. She has years of experience in assessing and treating individuals who have served in the military. She is also a Clinical Reader at King's College London with a special interest in the health and behaviour of military personnel, PTSD and Complex PTSD, and trauma informed care. 

Dr Sue Ferrier

Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Joint Head of Service

Sue is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years of experience of treating a wide range of psychological difficulties. She has significant expertise in treating the full range of trauma presentations including Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has post graduate training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Motivational Interviewing. She also holds a post- graduate diploma in Applied Clinical Neuropsychology and a Ph.D in psychology and is currently exploring comedy as a social intervention for mental health difficulties.

Dr Alexandra Pitman

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Alexandra Pitman is a consultant psychiatrist, and has a particular interest in the care of people who feel suicidal, and the links between loneliness, social isolation and mental illness. She divides her working week between this service and the UCL Division of Psychiatry, where she is an Associate Professor in Psychiatry and conducts research into risk factors for suicide and self-harm. She is a patron of the Support After Suicide Partnership.

Dr Alyssa Joye

Lead Clinical Psychologist

Alyssa is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience of working with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including complex trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has experience using a range of trauma focused therapies including trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and compassion focused approaches.

Rob Henderson

Operational Service Manager

Rob’s background is as a registered social worker with substantial clinical experience supporting veterans and others with a variety of mental health conditions. He is also a qualified and practising Approved Mental Health Professional.

Dr Ed O’Donnell

Ed is a Clinical Psychologist with experience working in a range of mental health services, including specialist trauma services. He has experience using a range of trauma focussed therapy approaches including Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). 

Tim Riley

Registered Mental Health Nurse

Tim has extensive experience across forensics and prison settings managing teams, complex interventions and processes. He is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and also has post graduate training in psychological therapies including CBT and EMDR. Tim undertakes psychotherapy with clients with complex needs and has extensive experience of Care Regulation and Quality Improvement.

Trish Sullivan

Administrator

Trish is an experienced administrator and has been with the service since its inception. She is the first point of contact for telephone queries.
